For too long we have been talking about the issues of gender equity in our industry and there has been some change - but not enough. 

That is why 72Point is proud to support the launch of this important pro-bono grassroots initiative that came out of a collective frustration that we need more action. This is not another survey about gender, diagnosing a problem we see and feel - but an ongoing commitment to driving meaningful change in our industry - for now, and in the future.

Led by behavioural science agency Lynn - and supported by 100+ PR and communications professionals within our industry - the ‘Break the Silence’ research aimed to better understand barriers to career progression. Key was reaching a wider, more representative, sample of professionals - hearing female voices, but also the perspectives of male colleagues, so we are able to better understand and identify the specific barriers and motivators that enable them to proactively and positively be part of this discussion.

 The Break the Silence survey was completed by 1,076 professionals from in-house (33%) to agency (49%) to freelance, consultants and others (18%). This launch event marks our  kick-off to assess these insights and build a plan of action for the long-term. Positive impact, driving change.

🔍 Why now?
The Socially Mobile Missing Women Report, supported by the CIPR, revealed that over 4,000 women have left the PR industry mid-career. We can’t afford to ignore this.
